Help for Busy Readers: RG Teaching Points

As a service to RadioGraphics readers, a reading aid has been added to the PDF versions of the journal's major articles.

Authors have identified the five most important concepts in their articles. These key concepts, or teaching points, are highlighted in the text of the article when its PDF version is viewed online, similar to a teaching tool used in some traditional textbooks.

To use the new feature online, you must select the PDF link (ie, not the Full Text link) to view an article. When the PDF version of the article has opened, on the article's first page you will see a hot link "Teaching Points" in red. As you read the article and scroll through the text, you will see a Teaching Point icon in the margin, next to text highlighted in red. When the hand tool passes over the icon, the highlighted teaching point will appear in larger type in a boxed window in the margin. If you click on the icon, the teaching point window is outlined in red and can be moved about the page (click again outside the window to close it).

The PDF with the Teaching Point icons and highlighted text can be printed for future reference. The printout includes the collected teaching points at the end of the article for a quick summary of the article's key concepts. The hot link on the first page takes you to the summary page with the article's key concepts.
