Page 269, Figure 18: The legend for Figure 18a should read as follows: "Lateral radiograph of the cervical spine obtained after surgery shows fixation of an odontoid base fracture by a screw [not an odontoid screw] and a sublaminar wire between C-1 and C-2." The term odontoid screw is specifically reserved for a screw placed anteriorly for fixation of a dens (odontoid) fracture. The screw pictured in Figure 18a enters from a posterior direction and is used to fix C-2 to C-1 through an articular facet between these two levels.
