Coronal fused PET-CT image (a) and unfused PET scan (b) show diffuse low-level physiologic FDG uptake throughout the small and large bowel. No focal FDG uptake is identified. Note the slightly more prominent uptake within the cecum and right colon, which may be secondary to a relatively high concentration of lymphocytes in this region.
